Advocacy and Policy

 

Achieving better oral health is a goal that involves activities and participation at multiple levels: promotion, advocacy, education and development. With its international perspective and reach, FDI Dental Federation develops and disseminates policy as the unified global voice for the dental profession towards the vision of leading the world to optimal oral health.

Some recent and ongoing FDI World Dental Federation advocacy activities include:

  • Developing FDI Policy statements
  • Participating in international discussions related to oral health with partners including the World Health Organization and United Nations
  • Representing dentistry on the international stage in the Global Mercury Partnership
  • Parterning with the International Council of Nurses, International Pharmaceutical Federation and World Medical Association in the World Health Professions Alliance
  • Participating in an official review of the WHO Patient Safety Curriculum Guide
