The 2010 Annual World Dental Congress will be held in Salvador, located in Bahia State, in the north eastern part of Brazil, from September 2nd – 5th. Salvador da Bahia has unique features that allow for the integration of science, business and leisure. A cosmopolitan city, Salvador is one of the financial centres of Brazil, with outstanding sunny beaches year round, a multicultural melting pot of Amerindians, Africans and Europeans and it is recognised as a UNESCO heritage site. Antique monuments and modern and creative architecture blend together to create a spectacular view. Salvador is a vibrating city, alive with cultural activities throughout the year, with typical food, dances and local music. Salvador has also contributed great names to Brazilian music and Bossa Nova since the beginning of time.
The Scientific Programme for 2010 was structured to thoroughly consider major themes for the profession, always aiming for a connection with the mission of social responsibility of FDI to promote oral health to the people around the globe. The topics are intended to induce discussion on public policies and private practices, new trends, overviews of research, teaching and clinical practice and also a debate in integrating odontology and other professions to reach general and oral health.
Amalgamated to all of this, a carefully developed social programme will show the various aspects of the local culture. Trips to Iguaçu Falls, the Amazon Region, the Lung of the World, and the fantastic Pantanal Region among other exquisite places are what await you.
The FDI and the 2010 Local Organising Committee, invite you to mark your calendars for the dates of this event and to programme some extra days for some rest and relaxation after the Congress to visit one of the most magnificent places in the world. No effort will be spared to host you.
