More than 100 years since its founding, FDI World Dental Federation serves as the principal representative body for more than 1 million dentists worldwide, developing health policy and continuing education programmes, speaking as a unified voice for dentistry in international advocacy, and supporting member associations in oral health promotion activities worldwide.

The FDI Constitution was adopted in New Delhi, India (2004) and last amended in 2008. A copy of the document is available in English, French, Spanish, and German.
