MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

In this last message as President of the FDI World Dental Federation, I am happy to report that our organisation is strong, focused on our Vision and Missions and that our finances are healthy. It has truly been an honour and a privilege to have been able to play a role in this process as your President.

For the development of oral health in a country, there are three pillars:

• The authority - who has the power and the budget
• The population - who needs to be informed and educated
• The dental profession - who has to do it.

FERNEY COMMUNIQUÉ GETS A FACE LIFT

The Ferney Communiqué received a new look and with it, a new name. This bi-monthly newsletter is now officially FDI Worldental Communiqué.

DENTAL DIVERSITY IN
THE LAND OF TOMORROW

FDI World Dental Congress to take place in Dubai. The FDI Annual World Dental Congress (AWDC) will open its doors at the end of October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Thousands of visitors are already registered from more than 120 countries.

FDI DENTAL ETHICS MANUAL UNVEILS IN DUBAI

A resource for both practicing and future dental professionals

In its efforts to leading the world to optimal health and also achieving its mission to advance and promote the ethics, art, science and practice of dentistry, in 2006 the FDI commissioned the writing of the FDI Dental Ethics Manual. A little more than a year later, the Dental Ethics Manual is now ready to be unveiled at the FDI Annual World Dental Congress in Dubai.

TWO FDI CE PROGRAMMES
EASTERN EUROPE IN JUNE

More than 400 dentists from all over Serbia attended the XXIII Symposium of Dental Health Education in Serbia. Notable attendees include the Deputy Ministry of Health Care and Ministry of Health Care Advisors in Serbian Government, representative of National Health Care Insurance of Serbia, professors from medical and dental schools from University of Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis.
