IDEM SINGAPORE: 4-6 APRIL 2008
FDI to remain partner of IDEM Singapore in 2008 and 2010
Following the first successful cooperation between the organisers of IDEM Singapore (Koelnmesse and its Singapore subsidiary as well as the Singapore Dental Association (SDA)) and the FDI in 2006, the FDI has announced that it will also support IDEM in 2008 and 2010. IDEM Singapore is the Asia-Pacific region’s largest established dental fair with a regular frequency and a fixed location. The cooperation of the SDA and the World Dental Education Society, Singapore, with the FDI ensures that the congress programme accompanying IDEM Singapore will be of high quality.
Every two years, dental experts come to IDEM from all over the world to discuss current issues concerning dentistry and dental research and technology. In 2008, the congress motto will be “Scientific Basis of Clinical Practice”. The speakers will include Steven Offenbacher (USA, periodontology), Edward J. Swift (USA, restorative dentistry), Stephen Chen and Lisa Heitz-Mayfield (Australia, guided tissue regeneration), Daniel Buser and Hans-Peter Weber (Switzerland / USA, modern implant dentistry), Shimon Friedman (Canada, endodontics), Michael Martin (UK, infection control) and Gregory King (USA, orthodontics).
IDEM Singapore 2008 will be held at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre from 4th to 6th April. On almost 10,000 m2 of gross exhibition space, it will be 3,000 m2 larger than the previous event in 2006. Despite this increase, the fair is already almost booked out. In fact, the exhibitor list reads like a “Who’s Who” of the international dental industry. GC Asia, Ivoclar Vivadent, Nobel Biocare, Institut Straumann, 3M Espe, Carl Zeiss, Dentsply Asia, J. Morita, SciCan, SOREDEX, Zimmer Dental and many other exhibitors will be presenting their current product ranges and the latest research results. New exhibitors at next year’s show include the global British-Dutch group Unilever, which has chosen the international dental fair in Singapore to present its partnership with the FDI to the south-east Asia market. And last but not least, E-woo is also pulling out all the stops for its first participation in Singapore.
IDEM Singapore 2008 will also feature joint stands and pavilions from countries right around the globe, including Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Singapore and Germany. Some of these presentations will be substantially bigger than at the last event. In addition, the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (FCCS) has plans for a first-ever French pavilion at next year’s event.
