Dr Michèle Aerden, FDI President, has been nominated for Honorary Membership in the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD) by Drs Kathryn Kell and Mary J. Hayes.
The AAWD was formed in 1921 to organise a society by which women strengthen themselves by trying to help one another. 87 years later, these values are still held close by the AAWD.
According to the AAWD, Dr Aerden’s career has helped pave the way for women in dentistry all over the world. She exemplifies the mission of what AAWD is about, “to be the recognised resource for connecting and enriching the lives of women dentists”.
The Honorary Membership is conferred upon any person of national or international reputation, who has made a valuable contribution to the science of dentistry. Dr Aerden’s nomination was unanimously accepted by the AAWD Executive Board. The FDI wishes to congratulate Dr Aerden on this well deserved Honorary Membership.
