Pan American Health Organization

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization . Their offices are based in Washington D.C., USA.

The FDI collaborates with the PAHO Oral Health Unit and its director, Dr Saskia Estupiņan-Day. The two organisations are currently planning a major Oral Health Conference for the American Region scheduled for early 2008.

09.2006 - Joint Statement given by the FDI and the IADR at the 58th session of the Regional Committee

Excerpt:

The FDI World Dental Federation and IADR share the mission of improving oral health and welcome the initiative taken by PAHO with the new Proposed Year Regional Plan on Oral Health for the Americas. Both organisations are of Resolution CE138/R9 taken by the PAHO Executive Committee and call countries represented in the Directing Council to approve this resolution.
