The Dental Materials & Products Surveillance Task Team provides expert, timely advice and guidance to FDI Council, Standing Committees and HQ on dental products, dental materials (including biomaterials) and such other oral health matters as arise.

The Governance Task Team was designated by the FDI Council to conduct a thorough examination of pending issues of FDI Governance, solicit input from members where needed and propose recommendations for constitutional amendments.

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Task Team is building on the achievements of the previous phase of the project. Additional resources, this time including dental students and patients, will be included in the FDI Mental Health and Wellbeing Digital Toolkit. This Task Team reports to the FDI Dental Practice Committee.

They push for oral health challenges to be addressed in broader disease policies and health promotion strategies for ageing populations. The Preventing AMR and Infections Task Team, ex AMR Working Group, has developed a white paper on the essential role of the dental team in reducing antibiotic resistance, with a supporting online library of resources, as well as a pledge with more thank 80 signatory NDAs. Given that dentists prescribe almost 10% of all antibiotics, oral health professionals need to be involved in the development and implementation of national action plans to counter antibiotic resistance. This Task Team reports to Science Committee.
