Abstract :
Management of root canal variations remains one of the most significant challenges in endodontics. Successful outcomes depend on accurate diagnosis, understanding of root canal anatomy, and the application of modern techniques to negotiate complex configurations. This lecture will highlight clinical strategies for identifying and managing root canal variations, supported by case examples and evidence-based approaches. Emphasis will be placed on minimally invasive principles, use of advanced imaging, and the integration of contemporary endodontic tools to achieve predictable and biologically sound outcomes.
Learning objectives :
- Identify diagnostic indicators and limitations of conventional and advanced imaging techniques (e.g., CBCT) in the detection of root canal variations.
- Apply evidence-based principles in the clinical management of complex root canal morphology, including access preparation, canal negotiation, disinfection, and obturation techniques.
- Critically analyse complex clinical cases and further discuss on decision-making nuances and problem-solving in complex root canal morphology and common complications.
