Abstract :
Dentists treat anxious patients on a daily basis. Although behavioural and pharmacological techniques are implemented to manage anxiety, inhalational sedation constitutes an important tool in this management in the outpatient dental office. This lecture will discuss current evidence to clarify indications and safety protocols to apply inhalational sedation. In addition, practical recommendations for integrating inhalational sedation protocols into routine dental settings will be provided.
